MTN Nigeria is Africa’s largest mobile network operator, sharing the benefits of a modern connected life with 272 million customers in 19 markets across Africa and the Middle East. MTN Nigeria was seeking a Multi-Service platform to serve its corporate remote VoIP, enterprise and cellular backhaul customers. SpaceBridge provided its hub equipped with WaveSwitch™ capabilities, offered with the U7400. This is a professional modem that dynamically switches from TDMA to SCPC based on a predefined set of triggers, designed to serve remote cellular backhaul sites.

Challenge

Extend reach and deploy remote rural cellular backhaul for CBH links in a multi band and multi satellite environment. Additionally, with the ability to grow and add various other types of applications over the same platform.

Solution

SpaceBridge provided its hub equipped with WaveSwitch™ capabilities, offered with the U7400. This is a professional modem that dynamically switches from TDMA to SCPC. The U7400 switches based on a predefined set of triggers, designed to serve remote cellular backhaul sites. Additionally, SpaceBridge’s C7700, a broadband Internet satellite modem was offered to provide VoIP, corporate and enterprise connectivity to remote sites.

The solution provided by SpaceBridge allowed MTN Nigeria advantage of a single platform with high flexibility, high efficiency, and high capacity to provide quality communication links for different applications.
