Controller

We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all financial aspects of the organization and play a key role in strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for financial reporting, systems, and control to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and provide monthly reports to the Senior Leadership Team on time to assess performance and make recommendations for overall improvement and financial corporate strategies.
  • Analyze and report on a quarterly basis to financial institutions the business results strictly on time.
  • Ensure the analysis of financial statements, including accounts reconciliations and variance analysis/cash flows and “what if” scenarios to provide specific tactical and strategic advice and direction.
  • Lead annual business planning process including cash-flow requirements necessary to implement an operating plan and annual/quarterly forecast and product gross margins.
  • Prepare consolidated (SpaceBridge Inc. and subsidiaries) financial reports (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash used in Operations), budgets, cash-flow, cost, and gross margins reports on a monthly basis and on a standalone (SpaceBridge Inc.) basis quarterly.
  • On a monthly basis supervise banking reconciliations and provide the borrowing certificates to the bank.
  • Maintain a good relationship with external financial partners and communicate and regularly update the executive team on these relationships.
  • Participate in the Go-No-Go proposal meetings and provide leadership to internal customers with respect to financial issues: profitability of proposals and operational strategies.
  • Implement strategies to effectively manage working capital, treasury, and FX exposure, including hedging.
  • Partner with functional leaders in establishing budgets and driving cross-functional initiatives to constantly improve financial performance; working with company managers to establish/monitor and act on Key Performance Indicators, such as operating ratios along with DPO, DRO, etc.
  • Maintain and improve high standards of reporting, as well as accounting records, activities, and controls.
  • Maintain high-level security of customer and client accounts.
  • Review and perform ongoing analysis of the business and operations, identify risk areas, and recommend/take measures to implement corrective actions and maintain safeguards from omissions, material errors, and fraud.
  • Manage the Finance/Accounting team, including hiring, training and development, performance review, motivation, and retention of staff.
  • Manage annual FS and tax audits conducted by third-party auditors to ensure timely and on-budget completion.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on product costing and margins. Establish the cost of finished goods using OH cost, labor, and raw materials.
  • Identify and implement requisite controls, internal audits, and accounting procedures to support the financial system, operational processes, and procedures to increase productivity.
  • Coordinate and lead the Annual Physical Inventory and Cycle Count Activities.
  • Be the link with the IT department for accounting applications.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance; and CPA
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive financial leadership experience in manufacturing and worldwide sales; comprehensive knowledge of GAAP (including IFRS and ASPE), and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge and experience dealing with international financial transactions such as letters of credit, bonds, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of costing.
  • Experience in the High Tech industry dealing with banks, financial institutions, and investors.
  • Experience in auditing
